My Experience Using Daytrip

Last month I was in Florida, visiting a friend who lives in Miami. I had been wanting to visit the Florida Keys for years, so I decided to finally pull the trigger and do a weekend trip to Key West.
 
The drive from Miami to Key West takes about 3.5 hours (depending on traffic). From photos I had seen online, I knew it was going to be gorgeous. This stretch of road is often called “the highway that goes to sea.” It encompasses 113 miles of roadway and 42 bridges from Key Largo to Key West including the famous 7-mile bridge (pictured below).
 
I considered renting a car and driving, but I wanted to be able to enjoy all the sights along the way. I also considered booking an Uber, but I wanted to be able to stop where I pleased for food and to take photos.
 
So I decided to book a Daytrip private driver to take me from South Beach to Key West. The drive takes about 3.5 hours and you can expect breathtaking views as you hop from key to key and marvel at the coral islets and crystal-clear water.

My Daytrip driver, Petr, was wonderful. His communication was excellent, he was professional, friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about Key West. Petr sent me a text the night before to confirm the details of our morning pick-up, and he messaged me the next morning when he arrived. 
 
Along the drive, from Miami to Key West, Petr pointed out different sites and told me stories about them. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain, so we weren’t able to stop and take many photos. But when I got hungry and wanted to stop for breakfast, Petr was happy to accommodate me.
 
Petr also connected me to one of his friends who offers fishing trips and other boat tours in Key West. Before he dropped me off at my hotel he also gave me his favorite Key West restaurant suggestions. As a newbie to the keys, I found all of his tips very helpful. 
 
I also booked a Daytrip driver for my journey from Key West back to the Miami Airport. My return driver was fabulous too. The experience on both trips was top-notch.

How To Book A Daytrip Ride

You can book a trip with Daytrip via their website or app which can be downloaded from the app store. You can select your departure (point A) and your arrival (point B), in addition to the number of travelers and luggage you have.

You can also create a custom trip by adding a specific address, a departure date, and a specific time. Once you have submitted your route, you will receive information about the cost of your journey before confirming your ride. The process is very quick and easy!

Daytrip doesn’t cost that much more than rideshare options, and if you have a large group, it actually might work out cheaper than ordering multiple rideshare cars. The Daytrip app is easy to use, and like other rideshare options, you can record rides and store payment options.
