This week I hosted the first New York City We Are Travel Girls Meet Up! There are so many girls out there who are New York based, it was really great to meet each other and realize some of us are even neighbors, living just a block away.
We had an amazing evening at The Refinery Rooftop in midtown sipping the prettiest cocktails with Empire State Building views. This is such a hidden gem in midtown, and they do a lot of fun events in addition to being a great bar. The rooftop has antique rugs, comfy leather couches, bistro lights and the city as your backdrop. It’s one of my favorite spots in the city.
The Refinery Rooftop also has some of the most insta-worthy cocktails I’ve seen in the city, all the girls loved The Babydoll – which is served in a beautiful copper coupe with edible flowers. But the frose had my heart.
With the city as our backdrop, we so enjoyed getting to know each other and sharing travel stories and swapping advice on upcoming trips. One of the girls is heading on the upcoming Malawi Getaway, and was giving us all ‘fomo’ sharing the details of this amazing trip. It is always so fun to meet other girls who love to explore the world, that is what makes being apart of this community so special. In just our meet up, there were girls from India, France, Dubai, London, Haiti, and Austria! New York is definitely an international city, but we were really representing the globe last night!
Everyone who came got some seriously chic swag – the ultimate travel bag for travel girls from Hudson + Bleecker. Eram, the creator of the brand is a total #girlboss and she came to hang out for the evening. She started her brand when she realized that the type of travel bags she wanted didn’t exist, so she started sewing them by hand!
Thank you to everyone who came out, and a huge thank you The Refinery Rooftop for helping us have our event in very good company. I can’t wait to host more Manhattan meet ups in the future and get to know more of you travel girls out there.
