MY EXPERIENCE AT FOUR SEASONS OAHU
Last month I spent a week at Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina with my family. As most parents know family getaways can be exhausting and sometimes you arrive back home even more in need of a vacation than when you left. But this was not the case with our stay at Four Seasons Oahu. We had a very relaxing week because of all the incredible resort amenities, and the friendly staff that caters to your every desire.
Four Seasons Oahu is 25 minutes from Honolulu, allowing you to truly get away from it all while having all the amenities of a big city just a short drive away. But if you prefer not to get in a car during your vacation, everything you could want is already at your fingertips. There are excellent restaurants, all the luxury amenities you’ve come to expect from Four Seasons properties, as well as incredible outdoor activities. And you can also walk across the street to Ko Olina Village which has cute shops, a grocery store, and several good restaurants.
WATER SPORTS
Hawaii is known for its amazing waves and warm water, so if you want to learn how to surf this is the perfect place to do it! The wonderful concierge team at Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina can set up private or group surf lessons for you. Or, if you know how to surf already, they can arrange a private surf guide to take you surfing at a good local break. The concierge arranged for Makani Christensen, the founder of Keawe Adventures to pick me up at the hotel and take me surfing. He was an awesome guide, with a wealth of knowledge about Oahu, and I has a blast surfing with him.
But if surfing is not your thing there are an array of other water sports you can do at Four Seasons Oahu, like snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, catamaran sail tours, dolphin tours, and sunset cruises. The resort sits on a peaceful, sanding bay that is shallow and calm providing the perfect conditions to swim, relax at the water’s edge, or paddle board. The hotel offers free paddle boards for guests so my daughter and I did some paddle boarding together, which was remarkably easy because of how calm the bay is.
OCEAN-VIEW ONE-BEDROOM SUITE
If you are considering booking Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina for a family stay, or you have three people in your party, I suggest booking an Ocean-View One-Bedroom Suite. These suites are over 1,400 sq ft, offering two large balconies with sweeping ocean views, and two bathrooms. The master bathroom has his and hers sinks, a large walk-in closet and a huge jacuzzi tub. During our stay, we set our daughter’s crib up in the living room so she had her own bedroom separate from ours. Each morning we had a wonderful family breakfast together on our balcony overlooking the ocean. You can watch my FS Oahu IG Stories to for a tour of our suite, as well as other highlights from our stay!
FOUR SEASONS OAHU AMENITIES
There are so many wonderful amenities at Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina. Oceanfront yoga and daily fitness classes are just a few of the daily activities offered. There are two on property boutiques, a business center, and a cute little wedding chapel. No luxury vacation is complete without a trip to the spa and Naupanka Spa does not disappoint. My massage was excellent and I highly recommend the coconut oil scalp massage and hair treatment add-on.
For families, Camp Kohola Kids Club offers excellent indoor and outdoor activities. Children 5-12 do not need to be accompanied by an adult. Camp Kohola also provides full childcare from 9am-9pm and is complimentary to hotel guests. Ko Olina Golf Club is just across the street if you fancy a round of golf. There are four beautiful pools at Four Seasons Oahu – two family pools and an adults-only pool that offers a quiet retreat for soaking up the sun and sipping cocktails.
DINING
Dining at Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina is top-notch. There are five restaurants and lounges located on the property. I loved the food at the Italian restaurant Noe. I have eaten more than my fair share of lobster pasta and this was one of the best I’ve had. But our favorite overall dining experience was dinner at Mina’s Fish House. I ate here with my family three times during our stay, sitting on the terrace under the stars, looking out over the water with the sound of waves softly crashing on the sand. This beautiful setting, with the warmth from the fire torches, and the nightly live music, really helps you relax into your magical Hawaii vacation.
